Louise Simson is an competition-winning sculptor from London.
Her work is defined by movement and form, most notably captured in her sculptures of the Men’s Champions and Finalists at Wimbledon between 2001 and 2014. Beyond the world of tennis, her portfolio encompasses a diverse range of subjects, including a ballet dancer, David Beckham, reinterpretations of Old Masters, and even a mole, reflecting her playful versatility as an artist.
Louise Simson’s sculptures can be found in Dulwich Village, the Wimbledon Collection, and the Chilean Embassy in London.
Tennis Sculptures
For thirteen years, Louise Simson created sculptures from photographs personally selected by the players or their teams, with the finished bronzes presented to the players at the following year’s Wimbledon Championships. During this period, she sculpted many of the sport’s most celebrated figures, including Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, and more.
Each player retains their sculpture within their personal collection, while Wimbledon holds additional castings of Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, and Murray in its own collection.
